Ear piercing question - barbells, BCRs and Horseshoe rings?
Can barbells, horseshoe rings and BCRs be worn in a standard earlobe piercing? if they can, what size/gauge would i need to use? cause i don't want to stretch my ears.
i'm in the UK if that helps. and please explain as much as possible as i really know nothing about all this piercing stuff - e.g how the actual things work e.g with the horseshoe rings, i'm assuming the end balls or cones screw off yeah?

Technically, anything (preferably sterile), can be worn in there.
Post type earrings are most commonly used on the ear lobe, because they are adjustable because of the metal thing on the back.
Barbells aren't often worn there as they are loose, but I suppose if you were to find one short enough, it could work.
Captive bead rings can be worn, but are usually worn in the cartilage.
horseshoe rings are fine to wear. I've seen people with them, but they've had them going all the way up they're ears with multiple piercings.
Your ear is most likely 16 or 18 gauge, so try that.

Ideal horseshoe ring size for snakebites piercing?
I'm female and just got snakebites done. After it heals I'd like to switch my studs to horseshoes, but I don't know what size horseshoes to buy. Ball size: 4mm, Diameter: 3/8" or 5/16"? (gauge is 16g - I'll stay with that), but what is the average size of horseshoe rings? Should the diameter be 3/8" or 5/16"? What size are yours (if you have any) for your snakebites (again if you have/had)? Thanks in advance for the answers.
I'm asking should the diameter be 3/8" or 5/16"..not the gauge size. I will stay with a 16g gauge size. I'm going to buy them, so how can I "stay" with the 16? what are you even talking about.....(to first answerer).

Depends on the size of your lips. You can be anywhere from a 5/16" to 1/2" depending on how big your lips are, and if you try to wear something too small, your piercings can reject. Ask your piercer what size rings you can wear if you're not sure how to measure that yourself. Once you do find out, make sure to get internally threaded rings made out of a good metal (implant grade steel, titanium, gold, etc). This will make sure they don't get irritated if you try to change your rings, plus they look a lot nicer.
