Gold rope chain / necklace stretched and broken? Is it beyond repair?
My husband has a rope chain that I want to get repaired but not sure it is fixable. It got pulled by one of our kids and broke. You can tell where it is stretched out near the break and the rope seems thinner there. Is this fixable if I take it to a jeweler?
without seeing it, it's rather hard to say, but it does sound to me as if it is going to be difficult/expensive to fix. The jeweler might suggest, taking the damaged part out and shorten the necklace if that's an option. Your best bet would be to ask the jeweler him/herself.
